The drawback of resumes written by AI!

The Washington post recently published an article that basically corroborates what Recruiters, Resume Writers, and Hiring Manager have been advising job seekers since the advent of ChatGPT.

AI resumes or using AI during your the application and interview process isn't fooling anyone.

This is not to say that you CAN'T use AI during the process, however when you rely on AI completely without using that wonderful brain of yours to edit, add, or modify the information then you are opening yourself up for rejection.

As a recruiter, I've reviewed thousands of resumes over the last few years. I can tell you for certain that AI written resumes are often easy to spot. They say the same things over an over again. Whether you use ChatGPT or any other AI tool, you are giving verbiage that everyone else that uses that tool is also receiving.

I asked ChatGPT to help me write a bullet for my resume. Below is the response.

You see AI is an aggregate and its default is average. When you ask it for help or to create something it will give you the average of all the possible responses. This is why and how the hiring team can notice when someone is using AI.

Resumes written by humans who know what hiring managers want and can evolve with the changing trends tend to land more interviews than AI written resumes.

The world is evolving and we should all use technology for our benefit, but when technology replaces human critical thinking we all lose.
